Libri Mundi sells a beautiful Galapagos map, but an online source is elusive

Our Galapagos Islands adventure preceded the discovery of my favorite map source at ITMB, so I did not obtain any maps prior to our trip.  The map on the left was produced by Instituto Geografico Militar (IGM), and obtained in Ecuador from Libri Mundi, probably Ecuador’s largest bookstore chain.  As it sounds, IGM is a branch of the Ecuadoran government, and although both they and Libri Mundi have lovely Spanish language websites, neither seems to be in the business of selling Galapagos maps online.

So, no need to fight the inevitable, order from ITMB and make things easy on yourself.  A detail of the Galapagos Islands map they offer appears to be just as nice as the Ecuadoran government version, and the numbered balloons are so intriguing that I’m tempted to order the map just to see what they reference.

I purchased two of the Libri Mundi maps, one of which I used to trace the route of our cruise.  If not for that step, I could never have reconstructed the sequence of our tour, or figured out which of our pictures was from which island.
